Wermlandia is a Swedish music project from Munkfors, creating Dark Cinematic Trance Metal — where gothic and heavy metal collide with cinematic atmosphere, progressive trance and massive electronic production.
The music is created through a hybrid production process combining original melodies, real instruments, sampling, FL Studio and modern AI-assisted creative tools. Songs often begin with instrumental ideas, melodies or sound fragments before being developed, rearranged and refined through several stages of production.
AI is used as one of several creative tools for exploring arrangements, sounds and new musical directions. The final music is shaped through human creative decisions, editing, sound design, mixing and mastering.
The lead vocal originates from a real human voice and is enhanced through modern production and AI-assisted processing.

Wermlandia is a Swedish music project from Munkfors, creating cinematic hybrid music where symphonic metal meets modern electronic elements. Influenced by heavy metal, gothic rock and symphonic metal, the sound blends darkness, melody and a cinematic atmosphere.
The musical journey began early. At the age of sixteen, the founder of Wermlandia built his first guitar – a Flying V – and soon started playing in local cover bands together with friends. During those years, music became a central part of life, performing at various events and venues while developing a passion for songwriting, guitars and live performance.
As life moved on, music took a back seat for many years. However, the passion never truly disappeared. In the early 2020s, a special project resulted in the release of a CD together with the youngest daughter, marking a return to creative music-making.
Later in life, with encouragement and support from his wife, the musical journey began again. One condition was clear: it would be something they would do together. That shared commitment became one of the foundations of Wermlandia.
Over the years, the production process evolved alongside technology. Early work was created using Cubase, while recent years have been centered around FL Studio. At the same time, involvement in the development and use of artificial intelligence opened entirely new creative possibilities. Rather than replacing human creativity, AI became a powerful tool that expanded what could be achieved independently.
Today, Wermlandia combines human artistry with modern technology. Lyrics, ideas, stories and artistic direction remain human-driven, while AI supports parts of sound design, arrangement, vocal enhancement, mixing and mastering.
The result is cinematic and emotionally driven music where orchestral arrangements, heavy guitars, electronic pulse and powerful vocals come together to create dark, epic soundscapes. Every song is built as an experience rather than a traditional song structure, inviting listeners into a world where music, storytelling and imagination meet.
Wermlandia is more than a music project — it is the continuation of a lifelong passion for music, creativity and the belief that it is never too late to start creating again.
